Hustle for Hope 5K

The Hustle for Hope 5K is one of many activities throughout April, HIE Awareness Month, to increase advocacy, awareness, education, research, and support through Hope for HIE, the premiere global organization dedicated to improving the quality of life for children and families.

Hope for HIE chose the virtual format to meet the needs of its global community, allowing for flexibility, diversity, and inclusion. Participants pick a date, time, and location (indoors or outdoors) that works best and can complete the 5K by any form of mobility (walk, run, or roll) or can take part in one of our locally hosted events!

Complete it all at once, or break it up over time. We encourage you to sign up and post on social media to help raise awareness for this great cause using the hashtags #HustleforHope and #HopeforHIE!

REGISTRATION
Registration opens on February 15, 2026. Early bird race registration fee is $30 (Feb 15 - Mar 15) and $35 (Begins March 16). Each registrant will receive a finisher medal, race bib, and other small swag, as well as educational info to share about HIE. *If you register on the day of the event, you will not receive a race packet.

Add a race shirt at sign up for an additional $20.

RACE PACKETS
Race packets will be mailed out in batches. The earlier you register, the sooner you will receive your race packet:

  • Register by March 15th, and your race packet will be mailed by April 1st.
  • Register between March 16th and April 15th, and your race packet will be mailed as quickly as we can get them out, but we are not able to guarantee you will get your packet before any in-person events. Although we'll do our best!

Virtual 5K Event

Register to participate in the Hustle for Hope fundraiser virtually! This option is perfect for families who are not near an in-person event and allows our community members to participate from anywhere in the world. Register to complete the event solo, or invite some family and friends for a small gathering to raise awareness for HIE while fundraising for Hope for HIE programs and support!

Local Events

Take a look to see if there's a local Hustle for Hope event taking place near you! These events are hosted and made possible by HIE families and community volunteers. If you don't see an in-person event near you, you can still sign up for the Virtual 5K or consider hosting a local event in the future! (New locations are constantly being added. Check back in for more!)
